SUMMARY:Jesse Coleman presents 'Building a Modern Data & Analytics Program in Toronto'
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the in-person seminar by Jesse Coleman on Friday\, September 30\, from 11 AM to 12 PM at the ITS lab. \nThe presentation will provide an overview of the role and work of the Data & Analytics Unit in Transportation Services at the City of Toronto.  It will include an overview of the data sources that the team leverages\, highlight some case studies of using analytics to drive decisions and will talk through some lessons and thoughts for the future. \nAbout the speaker \nJesse Coleman\nJesse Coleman is the Manager of Transportation Data & Analytics in the City of Toronto's Transportation Services Division. As part of this role he manages teams focused on data science\, data analytics and data operations\, oversees the City's transportation data collection and management program\, and leads digital transformation work\, including building MOVE\, a new data management platform for City staff in collaboration with Code for Canada. Jesse's work at the City began by leading the creation of the Big Data Innovation Team as an in-house data science practice to be able to measure the impact and benefits of the City’s policies and projects and prior to joining the City. Prior to joining the City\, Jesse worked in the private sector as a Transportation Planning consultant with IBI Group where he was involved with a number of long-term transportation planning studies around Canada. Jesse is a Professional Engineer and earned a BSc in Engineering Science and an MSc in Transportation Engineering from the University of Toronto. \n\nPresented by University of Toronto ITE Student Chapter\, UT-ITE. \nFree.
