UTM Mobility Network supported Eric Zhao’s internship last summer at the City of Mississauga, the precursor to his two-year contract role.
Xingyu (Eric) Zhao is joining the Active Transportation team. Eric is coming on board as an Active Transportation Coordinator on a two-year contract, focused on the City’s Shared Micro-Mobility Program.
Eric is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto Mississauga’s Master of Urban Innovation program, and previously completed a B.A. in Economics and Urban Studies from the University of British Columbia. Through his program at UTM, Eric joined the AT team as an intern during the spring and summer of 2023 and assisted the team in the development of the Shared Micro-mobility Program, specifically working on the monitoring and evaluation framework. During this previous tenure with the City, Eric demonstrated excellent teamwork, attention to detail, and superb written and verbal communication skills. Eric acquired significant knowledge of the shared micro-mobility industry and applied that knowledge effectively. As such, the City of Mississauga is thrilled to have him rejoin the team and continue his work.
