Professors Alison McGuigan & Lydia Wilkinson present 'Planning your goals for a successful graduate program'
Graduate school is not just about domain specific knowledge but an experience that gives you a much broader set of transferable skills. Be strategic about expanding your critical thinking and professional skill set.
In this session you will explore the goals of your graduate program and strategies to achieve these goals. You will also learn about possible activities that can support formulating and executing your goals for a fulfilling graduate experience.
About the speakers
Alison McGuigan is a Professor in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry and the Institute for Biomedical Engineering. Lydia Wilkinson is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in the Institute for Studies in Transdisciplinary Engineering Education and Practice (iSTEP). They are the co-instructors of a Research Methods course originally developed for Chemical Engineering graduate students that is now offered across the faculty (APS5500). In this course they provide a number of tools to support graduate student research and professional skill development.
