Congratulations to Mobility Network affiliated faculty Professor Michael J. Widener on being appointed chair of the Department of Geography and Planning at University of Toronto for the period July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2029!
Widener is a health geographer whose research focuses on how public health affects, and is affected by, movement and transportation systems.
He is the Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Transportation and Health. He serves as the director of Health Studies at University College, and as an associate professor in Geography and Planning, with a cross-appointment in Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
