Student Competition Symposium - New Frontiers in Transportation 2023
The New Frontiers in Transportation Student Competition is an initiative hosted annually by the University of Toronto Transportation Alumni Network with the goal of connecting current students interested in transportation, with alumni who currently work in the field.
Over a three-month period, interdisciplinary student teams worked with mentors to conduct research on a topic of their choice, under this year's theme: Evaluating Disruptions in the Transportation Network
We invite you to please join us in person on Thursday September 21 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the University of Toronto Galbraith Building (GB202, 35 St.George Street, Toronto, ON M5S 1A4) to hear the teams present their final research on this exciting and relevant topic. At this event, a panel of three judges will be evaluating the students' research and at the end, will announce the winning teams who will be awarded scholarships.
This year, a wide range of research topics will be presented by the student teams, such as impacts of transit service disruptions, assessing effects of weekend TTC closures on passenger travel times, and congestion mitigation strategies during construction and lane closures.Â
Following the Symposium, there will be a mixer at the Prenup Pub (191 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1P9) at 8:00 PM, where students, alumni and other friends of UTTAN can catch up in person. All are welcome!
